Tammie and I travel all over the eastern half of Nebraska helping out clients buy and sell real
estate. In our travels, we always try to find uniquely local places to eat. What isn’t unique about
just about every corner of Nebraska is that “Nebraska-Nice” is an actual thing. Doesn’t matter
where we go, Nebraskan’s are welcoming!
We live in Omaha, but travel far and wide for work. And we strongly encourage our Omaha
friends to get out of Omaha and see the state. Take out and back trips to unique places. See the
history, food, and space of Nebraska!
Recommendation of the day: David City, Nebraska!
After seeing the community on a work trip, we went back on a Saturday motorcycle ride. We
pulled into the town square, parked on the bricks in the middle parking section of the road,
watched as a wagon pulled by horses pulled up alongside a store and a few cars to pick up a
few things. That sold it for us. Any place relaxing and quiet enough to have horses pulling a
wagon, was a place we were coming back two.
We returned on our motorcycles with our daughter, and selected a place to eat based on a few
locals recommendation.
Where to eat first? Ropers Bar and Grill – 470 E Street, David, City, NE – 402-367-5099
Be sure to check out their hours before heading over. The food was classic for a bar and grill,
the service friendly, and the atmosphere perfect for relaxing and chatting.
Check it out!
